数々の好水準 Power Pop グループを輩出したオーストラリア産の Power Pop グループに焦点を絞り、かなりディープな部分まで突っ込んだセレクトが素晴らしい副題 Australian Power Pop 74-86 編集盤 ('14) が Zero Our Records 監修 CD オンリーで登場。
Robin Wills の素晴らしいブログ Pure Pop などで紹介された Punk 前時代の Pre-Power Pop 勢から、自主レーベル系は勿論、Punk / Power Pop 期に Polydor 等のメジャーレーベルから 7" を 1 枚のみ残し散ったオブスキュア勢、Australian Punk 最後の秘宝と呼ばれる British Jets の前身にあたる Beaut や、ご存知 The Innocents (Sooner Or Later) の前身グループ Beathoven の 1st 7" ('76) 音源、Beatles / Badfinger 影響下や ELO 影響化そして Raspberries 影響下、更には好内容にも関わらずまだまだ知られざる自主制作 7" が数多くある Mid 80's 勢まで、鉄壁のハーモニーとプロダクション面も含め伸びのあるサウンドが抜群、Oz Power Pop 勢の充実ぶりが伺い知れる好ナンバーばかりの全 22 曲入りです。見開きカードボードスリーヴ仕様。＊なお 11 曲目に収録された John Wilson (The Rockits, The Dodgers) の Heartbeats は U.K. 産ですがオーストラリア M7 盤からのカットという事でチョイスされたかと思われます!!
